The Tecan Infinite M1000 features premium Quad4 Monochromators and adjustable bandwidth settings to ultra fine tune the amount of excitation and emission light for optimized sensitivity of fluorescence-based measurements. The Tecan Infinite M1000 allows users to run advanced assay types such as FRET, TR-FRET, fluorescence polarization and glow/flash luminescence, and eliminate the need for absorbance and fluorescence filters. 

The Quad4 Monochromators technology makes use of a double monochromator on both the excitation and emission side. The Quad4 utilizes a spherical mirror that maps the light onto the entry slit, and the grating causes diffraction of the light into its optical spectra. Rotation of the grating determines which color will pass through the exit slit, which is simultaneously the entry slit for the second monochromator. The outcoming light is further diffracted by the second grating.
