The Sorvall Biofuge Fresco is made specifically to handle biological separation tasks. This is a compact unit with quiet operation. Typical applications include pelleting DNA and RNA, pelleting of PCR amplified nucleic acids, antibody and protein precipitates, enzymatic tests, removing debris from cell homogenates, and bacterial yeast cell fractionation. The brushless induction motor is designed to provide years of virtually maintenance free operation. Acceleration to 13,000rpm can be achieved in under 15 seconds. Speed is adjustable in 100rpm increments.

All of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit.
