We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all units thoroughly prior to shipment. We make sure that the compressors are working correctly and consistently and that the freezers can hold temperature even with an empty chamber. We also test and examine any additional features each model may have, such ashigh temp alarms, remote monitoring,chart recorders, and touchscreen displays, among others. We can provide customers with copies of the test records for each unit.

General purpose freezers are almost indispensable in laboratories around the world, providing low-temperature storage space for tissue samples, cell samples, reagents, enzymes, biochemicals, blood, biological samples, and vaccines, among others. Enzymes, reagents and biochemicals are typically stored at -20°C while blood, vaccines and biological samples can require temperatures from -25°C to -40°C.

Most general-purpose freezers are fixed shelf configuration, auto-defrost models with simple dial settings. Many freezers have upgraded features that include manual defrost, programmable alarms, high temp alarms, temperature dataloggers, and more.

Laboratory freezers vary in size from small undercounter units of around 5 cubic feet storage to large double door models of 45 cubic feet storage capacity or more. Some laboratories prefer energy efficient chest freezers if floor space permits. The most common size is the standard, ubiquitous 20 cubic foot storage capacity upright freezer.

Specialized freezers, such as blood bank models with sliding drawers or explosion proof and flammable material storage units for the storage of volatile compounds, are also available from American Instrument Exchange.
