Refurbished Laboratory Ovens

American Instrument Exchange consistently stocks a wide variety of refurbished laboratory ovens from numerous manufacturers including Thermo Scientific, VWR, Binder, Blue M, New Brunswick/Eppendorf, Yamato, and more. With savings of up to 60% off the cost of comparable new models, we can put a reliable oven in your lab at a competitive price.

And lower cost doesn't mean lower quality:our technicians test lab ovens using calibrated digital chart recorders to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all ovens thoroughly prior to shipment. We make sure that theheating elements are working correctly and consistently and that the oven can hold temperature even with an empty chamber. We also test and examine any additional features each model may have, such as vacuum, high temp alarms, remote monitoring, and touchscreens, among others. We can provide customers with copies of the test records for each oven.

Laboratory ovens can be used for drying, softening, aging, or sterilizing, and can be grouped into four main categories: gravity convection, mechanical convection, safety oven, and vacuum oven.

Gravity convection ovens are usually the least expensive models, all other factors being equal. These are good low-cost options that can be used when strict temperature uniformity isn't essential or for applications involving powders or substances that would be disturbed by the airflow generated by a fan.

Mechanical convection lab ovens offer more temperature stability through more consistent distribution of air in the chamber by including a motorized fan to push air across the heating elements. These models also tend to heat and reach temperature faster than gravity convection models. Some mechanical convection models are also rated for use in clean rooms

Vacuum ovens can be used when applications require a lack of atmosphere or inert atmosphere in applications such as plating, desiccating, out gassing, and drying. Vacuum ovens can help in the prevention of surface reactions (such as oxidation), decontaminating samples (removing lubricants for example) as well as for speeding up the out-gassing process. These models don't feature mechanical convection and require a vacuum pump to operate.

Safety ovens should be used with volatile materials when there is danger of an internal explosion. These ovens are designed with a blow-out panel to protect users from injury in the event of an explosion in the oven.
