Refurbished Laboratory Refrigerators

American Instrument Exchange consistently stocks a wide variety of refurbished ultra-low freezers from numerous manufacturers including Thermo Scientific, VWR, General Electric, Fisher Isotemp, Sanyo, Revco, and more. With savings of up to 60% off the cost of comparable new models, we can put a reliable oven in your lab at a competitive price.

And lower cost doesn't mean lower quality: our technicians test refrigerators using calibrated digital chart recorders to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all units thoroughly prior to shipment. We make sure that the compressors are working correctly and consistently and that the refrigerators can hold temperature even with an empty chamber. We also test and examine any additional features each model may have, such as high temp alarms, internal outlets, remote monitoring, chart recorders, and touchscreen displays, among others. We can provide customers with copies of the test records for each unit prior to shipment.

laboratory refrigerators

General purpose refrigerators are almost indispensable in laboratories around the world, used to cool samples or specimens for short term preservation. Typical applications include storage of reagents, microbiological specimens, blood plasma, freeze-dried products, vaccines, and other medical or pharmaceutical supplies. Laboratory refrigerators usually have temperature ranges from 1°C to 10°C and can be set by a simple dial thermostat or a more sophisticated LED display, microprocessor controller.

Undercounter refrigerators are a good option for labs with limited space and/or storage needs, while 20 cubic foot capacity upright style fridges are more common. Double door units of 45 cubic feet storage capacity are also frequently used in lab settings.

Some refrigerators are designed to store flammable substances such as solvents that can ignite if a kitchen-designed fridge or freezer generates a spark when switching on. Laboratory flammable material storage refrigerators are designed with compressors with enclosed overloads, relays, and thermostats that prevent sparking.

Chromatography refrigerators are glass door units designed for close temperature control of samples as well as ports and internal outlets for use with chromatography applications and instrumentation.
