The Vibratome Ultra Pro 5000 (also known as the OTF 5000/LS-004) is designed for brain sectioning and other difficult-to-section tissue. The chamber has -35°C operation with a single heavy-duty compressor, auto-defrost and buffered quartz timer, as well as built-in freezer digital temperature displays. The microtome is a model 5040 Model 5040 rotary-retracting microtome with 1/60μm advance and quick release feather blade holder.

Other features include specimen temperature control that allows rapid changes to be made to the specimen temperature, above the chamber temperature. This creates a positive temperature difference between the knife and the specimen so the section will always be delivered onto a surface colder than itself and is ideal when different tissues need to be cut at different temperatures. The object orientation with fine adjustment allows for accurate orientation of the specimen in both X & Y planes and includes both macro and micro adjustment knobs.

All of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.

We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit.
