The IEC Model 2K floor model centrifuge is a high-capacity, durable, reliable machine – built like a tank and nearly as sturdy, this centrifuge can take a beating and keep on ticking. (Although we don’t recommend actually beating any of your lab equipment.) The Model K features a time, four swivel casters for easy maneuverability, a dynamic electrical braking system, and a timer allowing for 2 to 120 minute timed runs as well as an unlimited run time option. The Model K has a speed range up to 5,500 rpm depending on rotor selection, generating a force of 4,420 x G.

All of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned.  If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
