Sutter P-2000 Pipette Puller

  • Laser based heat source
  • Can be used with most glass types but particularly quartz glass
  • Better performance/quality over other heating element type of heat sources
  • 90 day warranty

The Sutter P-2000 micropipette puller incorporates a CO² laser based heat source which provides multiple benefits over other heat sources. First, a laser allows the pipette puller to utilize quartz glass which has many advantages over other types of glass in the laboratory environment. Second, laser heat is “clean” and leaves no metal residue on the pipettes as will conventional heating filaments. Third, laser heat can be removed instantaneously leaving no residual filament heat. Fourth, the user can program the amount and distribution of supplied heat. Finally, with no filaments to burn out or replace, service down time is greatly reduced. The P-2000 can work with conventional glass having a diameter of up to 1.8mm but the performance is best with glass that is 1.2mm diameter or less.

The Sutter P-2000 can store up to 100 separate programs with each program having up to 8 command lines. Parameters include laser power level, scan width, trip velocity, delay/laser on time and hard pull strength.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
