American Instrument Exchange has extensive experience refurbishing used biosafety cabinets and laboratory containment equipment for research and pharmaceutical environments.
Each biosafety cabinet is inspected by our technicians to verify proper blower operation, airflow performance, sash operation, control operation, lighting operation, cabinet integrity, and overall system condition prior to shipment. Unless otherwise specified, new HEPA filters are installed at our facility before delivery.
Testing procedures include major functional and airflow verification elements associated with biosafety cabinet performance to help support certification readiness upon installation at your facility. Final certification should be completed by qualified field technicians after installation in accordance with laboratory requirements.
Biosafety cabinets should be certified by qualified field technicians after installation and before laboratory use. NSF/ANSI 49 certification standards are commonly followed for Class II biosafety cabinets used throughout North America.
American Instrument Exchange performs functional testing prior to shipment to support certification readiness upon arrival. Buyers should confirm facility compatibility, airflow requirements, electrical requirements, and certification standards prior to installation.
Certification services are available through our affiliate company AIE Laboratory Services, which provides biosafety cabinet certification, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and field service support for laboratory containment equipment.
Certification requirements may vary depending on laboratory protocols, facility standards, and application requirements.
Biosafety cabinets are oversized laboratory containment systems that may require special handling during transportation, delivery, and installation. Buyers should confirm facility access dimensions, doorway clearances, elevator compatibility, electrical compatibility, and final cabinet placement before shipment.
Depending on the installation environment, liftgate delivery, inside delivery services, rigging assistance, or coordinated facility access may be recommended.
The large 6-foot cabinet configuration may require additional planning for transport and positioning within laboratory facilities.
The 6-foot workspace configuration provides additional room for larger tissue culture setups, multi-user workflows, larger instruments inside the cabinet, and high-throughput laboratory procedures. Many biotechnology and pharmaceutical laboratories prefer 6-foot cabinets when scaling up production or research workflows.
The NU-425-600 is commonly used in cell culture environments because of its large work area, HEPA-filtered airflow design, ergonomic operator positioning, and contamination-control performance. The spacious interior workspace may help improve workflow efficiency during sterile procedures requiring multiple flasks, pipettes, or instruments inside the cabinet.
