The Labconco Protector ClassMate Laboratory Hood is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of instructional laboratories and classrooms. Its clear back and sides, combined with a taller front viewing window, offer enhanced visibility. These features make it ideal for conducting chemistry demonstrations or monitoring students as they work within the hood.
Additionally, the clear back ensures unobstructed visibility, even when the hoods are placed back-to-back in an island configuration. This thoughtful design enhances collaboration and allows instructors to easily supervise multiple students from different angles.
Equipped with a fully-featured baffle and ergonomic air foil, this high-performance by-pass hood delivers safe and consistent airflow. At the same time, it conserves energy, making it a reliable and efficient choice for educational environments.
The Labconco Protector ClassMate sets a new benchmark for safety and functionality with its SEFA 1 High Performance Hood certification. Its patented design seamlessly incorporates a by-pass airflow system, which ensures consistent containment while maximizing energy efficiency. Furthermore, the powder-coated steel frame delivers a sleek, durable exterior that resists corrosion and maintains a polished, professional appearance.
For enhanced user convenience, the hood features an ergonomic air foil with aerodynamic Clean-Sweep airflow openings, which improve both airflow and safety. Additionally, the low-profile, ADA-compliant spill trough ensures easy accessibility while effectively protecting against spills. Its 1/4" thick tempered safety glass sides, back, and removable baffle provide excellent visibility and make cleaning tasks simple and efficient.
At the same time, the 5° angled, 1/4" thick tempered safety glass stationary viewing panel and 3/16" thick chain-driven sash ensure superior visibility. The sash provides a broad 37.5" high viewing area, allowing precise monitoring of experiments and procedures.
The sash handle, featuring Clean-Sweep airflow openings, further enhances airflow optimization and performance. Inside the hood, a high-performance, three-piece glass baffle pivots effortlessly, simplifying cleaning. Meanwhile, Cord-Keeper slots located on both sides of the air foil offer effective utility organization. The pre-wired LED lighting illuminates the workspace, and conveniently placed switches for the light and blower provide easy operation.
With maintenance and accessibility as key considerations, the hood includes removable front panels, side panels, and interior cover plates for quick and straightforward access to plumbing and electrical wiring. To support efficient air filtration, a powder-coated stainless steel tissue screen is positioned directly below the exhaust outlet.
Thanks to its innovative features and durable construction, the Labconco Protector ClassMate Hood stands out as an excellent choice for laboratories focused on safety, efficiency, and convenience.
This 6’ Protector ClassMate Hood is used and reconditioned. Our technicians inspect all fume hoods to make sure that the baffles are present and intact, the interior lights are functioning, and that the sash is intact and runs smoothly on the tracks along with the counterweights.
Please note that we do not sell or provide blower motors with fume hoods. Every fume hood installation has different requirements due to the desired CFM and the distance the air needs to travel to exhaust out of the building. Therefore, you must consult with your HVAC technician for the purchase and installation of a blower motor for your fume hood.
