The PHCbi CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA Large Capacity CO₂ Reach-In Incubator is a production-scale incubator engineered for laboratories that require exceptional chamber capacity, precise environmental control, and advanced contamination protection. With an effective capacity of 30.1 cubic feet (851 liters), the MCO-80ICL-PA provides the space needed for high-throughput cell culture, biologics manufacturing, regenerative medicine, and large-scale pharmaceutical research while maintaining the stable temperature, humidity, and CO₂ conditions essential for reproducible results.
Designed specifically for growing laboratories and production environments, the CryoGrow combines an infrared CO₂ sensor, horizontal laminar airflow system, programmable humidity control, and PHCbi's copper-enriched stainless steel interior to create an optimized environment for sensitive cell cultures. Its reach-in design maximizes usable incubation space while minimizing laboratory footprint, making it an excellent solution for facilities expanding from research-scale workflows into pilot production or commercial manufacturing. Purchasing a refurbished PHCbi CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA from American Instrument Exchange allows laboratories to obtain premium incubation technology at a significant savings compared to purchasing new equipment.

The PHCbi CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA was developed for laboratories that have outgrown traditional benchtop and upright CO₂ incubators. Its spacious reach-in cabinet accommodates substantially larger culture volumes while maintaining the precise environmental conditions required for demanding biological applications. The horizontal laminar airflow system distributes conditioned air evenly throughout the chamber, helping eliminate temperature gradients and ensuring uniform growth conditions regardless of shelf location.
An infrared CO₂ sensor continuously monitors chamber conditions and rapidly restores programmed gas concentrations following door openings without overshoot. Because infrared sensing is unaffected by humidity fluctuations, the system delivers dependable long-term accuracy while minimizing CO₂ consumption. Combined with programmable humidity control and advanced microprocessor regulation, the CryoGrow creates a highly stable environment for both routine cell culture and production-scale workflows.
Many laboratories pair the MCO-80ICL-PA with biosafety cabinets for aseptic processing, centrifuges for harvesting and concentrating cells, laboratory refrigerators for media storage, and ultra-low freezers for preserving valuable cell banks and research samples.
The PHCbi CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA is frequently used for:
Large-scale mammalian cell culture
Cell therapy production
Biologics manufacturing
Vaccine development
Stem cell expansion
Regenerative medicine
Tissue engineering
Pharmaceutical process development
Clinical research
High-throughput biotechnology workflows
Its combination of large chamber volume and precise environmental regulation makes it equally well suited for research laboratories and production facilities.
The CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA is commonly installed in biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, cell therapy laboratories, regenerative medicine facilities, university research centers, government laboratories, contract research organizations, and contract development and manufacturing organizations. Its large reach-in design makes it particularly attractive for laboratories transitioning from small-scale research into pilot production or commercial manufacturing, where maximizing incubation capacity without increasing laboratory footprint becomes increasingly important.
Maintaining stable environmental conditions across a large chamber presents unique engineering challenges. The CryoGrow addresses these challenges through a horizontal laminar airflow system that distributes conditioned air evenly throughout the cabinet while minimizing localized hot and cold spots. This design helps achieve excellent temperature uniformity while supporting consistent cell growth across every shelf.
Following routine door openings, the infrared CO₂ sensor and PID controller rapidly restore chamber conditions without significant overshoot. The combination of precise gas regulation, stable heating, and uniform airflow helps reduce stress on sensitive cultures while improving experimental reproducibility during long-term incubation studies.
Protecting valuable cultures from contamination is one of the CryoGrow's primary design objectives. The chamber is constructed from PHCbi's copper-enriched inCu-saFe stainless steel, which provides passive antimicrobial protection while resisting corrosion during years of laboratory use. An optional ultraviolet decontamination system can further reduce airborne microbial contamination, while the horizontal airflow system helps maintain consistent chamber conditions without introducing excessive turbulence.
Additional contamination-control features include:
Copper-enriched stainless steel chamber
Horizontal laminar airflow
Infrared CO₂ sensing
Optional UV decontamination
Digital alarms and monitoring
Smooth interior surfaces for simplified cleaning
These features help laboratories reduce contamination risk while minimizing maintenance requirements and protecting valuable research materials.
With more than 850 liters of usable chamber space, the CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA is capable of supporting virtually every large-scale cell culture workflow. The chamber accommodates T-flasks, roller bottle systems, multiwell plates, suspension cultures, spinner flasks, stem cell cultures, primary cell cultures, cell therapy bags, and other production-scale culture vessels. Heavy-duty adjustable shelving allows laboratories to configure the chamber for changing workflows while supporting large sample loads without compromising temperature uniformity.
The CryoGrow MCO-80ICL-PA was engineered to provide production-scale incubation while controlling long-term operating costs. Its efficient gas management system minimizes unnecessary CO₂ consumption, while the insulated cabinet and horizontal airflow design maintain stable environmental conditions without excessive heating demand. Intelligent microprocessor controls optimize chamber performance during continuous operation, making the incubator well suited for laboratories running around the clock.
