The Beckman Coulter Avanti J-30I High-Performance Refrigerated Centrifuge is a premium floor model laboratory centrifuge designed for biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, genomics laboratories, proteomics facilities, academic research institutions, clinical laboratories, and core research facilities. The Avanti J-30I combines exceptional centrifugal force, advanced refrigeration, and industry-leading rotor compatibility to deliver high-throughput sample processing for demanding research and production environments.
Laboratories evaluating high-performance refrigerated centrifuges often compare maximum speed, maximum RCF, rotor compatibility, sample capacity, refrigeration performance, workflow flexibility, and serviceability when selecting a centrifuge system. The Beckman Avanti J-30I delivers speeds up to 30,000 RPM, centrifugal forces up to 110,500 × g, and supports sample volumes up to 4 liters or as many as 10 microplates depending on the installed rotor. This versatility allows a single centrifuge platform to support everything from molecular biology workflows to pilot-scale bioprocessing applications.
At American Instrument Exchange, our technicians inspect and test each centrifuge to verify proper refrigeration performance, motor operation, braking systems, lid lock functionality, rotor operation, and controller performance prior to shipment. American Instrument Exchange offers used and refurbished laboratory centrifuges for sale, including refrigerated centrifuges, floor model centrifuges, benchtop centrifuges, microcentrifuges, and large-capacity bioprocessing centrifuge systems from leading manufacturers including Beckman Coulter, Thermo Scientific, Eppendorf, and more.
The Beckman Avanti J-30I is one of Beckman's most versatile high-speed floor centrifuges, combining ultrahigh centrifugal force with exceptional rotor flexibility for both research and production applications.
The Beckman Coulter Avanti J-30I is engineered for laboratories that require maximum versatility without stepping into the ultracentrifuge category. Its powerful drive system, advanced refrigeration, and extensive rotor library allow researchers to perform cell harvesting, protein purification, plasmid preparation, virus concentration, organelle isolation, density gradient separations, and large-volume sample processing using a single centrifuge platform.
The J-30I accommodates dozens of Beckman J-Series rotors, including fixed-angle, swinging bucket, BioSafe, continuous-flow, zonal, and microplate rotors. Depending on rotor selection, laboratories can process everything from microcentrifuge tubes to large bottles, making the Avanti J-30I a valuable long-term investment for shared laboratory environments.

The Beckman Avanti J-30I is commonly used for mammalian cell harvesting, bacterial culture processing, protein purification, plasmid isolation, viral vector preparation, organelle isolation, density gradient centrifugation, blood component separation, vaccine research, fermentation workflows, pharmaceutical development, and biotechnology production support. The refrigerated chamber maintains temperatures from -20°C to +40°C, helping preserve proteins, nucleic acids, enzymes, viruses, and other temperature-sensitive biological samples throughout centrifugation. Compared with non-refrigerated floor model centrifuges, the Avanti J-30I provides superior sample protection while delivering significantly higher centrifugal forces and greater application flexibility.
Rotor compatibility is one of the greatest strengths of the Beckman Avanti J-30I.
Compatible rotor families include:
Compatible applications include:
The Avanti J-30I supports one of the largest rotor libraries in the Beckman high-speed centrifuge family, allowing laboratories to configure the instrument for virtually any application.
Customers should verify included rotors prior to purchase, as centrifuge configurations can vary between systems.

Why is the Avanti J-30I considered a high-performance centrifuge?
The J-30I delivers speeds up to 30,000 RPM and centrifugal forces exceeding 110,000 × g, allowing it to perform applications that many conventional floor centrifuges cannot handle.
Can the Avanti J-30I process microplates?
Yes. With the appropriate rotor, the J-30I can process up to 10 microplates simultaneously, making it an excellent platform for genomics, drug discovery, and high-throughput screening laboratories.
Is the J-30I suitable for viral vector or AAV workflows?
Yes. Many laboratories use the J-30I for viral vector preparation, density gradient centrifugation, and purification workflows because of its high centrifugal force and extensive rotor options.
What makes the J-30I different from the Avanti J-E?
While both are versatile refrigerated floor centrifuges, the J-30I offers substantially higher maximum speed and centrifugal force, enabling more demanding molecular biology, virology, and protein purification applications.
Does this centrifuge include a rotor?
Rotor availability varies by inventory. Please contact American Instrument Exchange to confirm which rotor, if any, is included with this particular instrument.
Can the Avanti J-30I support continuous-flow processing?
Yes. The J-30I is compatible with Beckman continuous-flow and zonal rotor systems, allowing laboratories to process large sample volumes efficiently.
Is this centrifuge appropriate for shared core facilities?
Absolutely. Its wide rotor compatibility allows one instrument to support molecular biology, microbiology, proteomics, cell biology, and bioprocessing workflows across multiple research groups.
Can American Instrument Exchange repair Beckman Avanti centrifuges?
Yes. AIE Laboratory Services provides diagnostics, preventative maintenance, refrigeration repair, and general service for many Beckman Coulter centrifuge models, including the Avanti J-series.
