QSonica Q500 Ultrasonic Homogenizer Overview

The QSonica Q500 is engineered for laboratories requiring high-energy ultrasonic processing with exceptional control and repeatability. Ultrasonic energy is delivered through the CL-334 converter and probe assembly directly into the sample, producing intense cavitation that rapidly disrupts cells, disperses nanoparticles, emulsifies liquids, and homogenizes biological or chemical materials. The digital controller allows users to precisely adjust amplitude, pulse intervals, and processing time while displaying real-time power output and accumulated energy. The included sound enclosure helps reduce laboratory noise exposure while securely supporting the converter and probe assembly during operation.

Common Applications for the QSonica Q500 Ultrasonic Homogenizer

The QSonica Q500 is commonly used for cell lysis, DNA and RNA extraction, protein extraction, bacterial disruption, tissue homogenization, nanoparticle dispersion, liposome preparation, emulsification, pharmaceutical formulation, graphene dispersion, polymer research, environmental sample preparation, and sonochemistry. The programmable operating modes make the system suitable for both routine laboratory processing and research protocols requiring highly reproducible ultrasonic energy delivery.

Ideal Lab Types for the QSonica Q500 Ultrasonic Homogenizer

This ultrasonic homogenizer is well suited for biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, molecular biology laboratories, genomics facilities, proteomics laboratories, university research institutions, environmental laboratories, nanotechnology research groups, and industrial R&D departments. Laboratories utilizing biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, laboratory freezers, PCR equipment, and analytical balances frequently incorporate probe sonicators into sample preparation and extraction workflows.

Refurbishment and Testing Process

At American Instrument Exchange, each refurbished ultrasonic homogenizer is inspected and evaluated by our technicians prior to shipment. Testing procedures may include verification of ultrasonic output, converter performance, probe operation, amplitude control, pulse mode functionality, display operation, timer verification, electrical safety testing, and overall system performance. The sound enclosure is inspected for structural integrity and proper operation. Components showing excessive wear are serviced or replaced as needed to help ensure dependable laboratory performance. Final cleaning and inspection are completed before packaging and shipment.

Shipping and Installation Considerations

The QSonica Q500 should be installed on a stable laboratory bench with adequate ventilation around the generator and sufficient workspace for safe sample handling. The included sound enclosure provides a dedicated mounting location for the converter assembly while reducing operator noise exposure during sonication. Buyers should inspect the probe tip periodically for wear and tighten the converter and probe according to the manufacturer's recommendations before operation. The complete system is carefully packaged to protect the generator, converter, probe assembly, and sound enclosure during shipment.

Related Laboratory Equipment

Laboratories purchasing ultrasonic homogenizers often also require biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, laboratory refrigerators, ultra-low temperature freezers, PCR equipment, analytical balances, and vortex mixers. American Instrument Exchange offers a wide selection of refurbished laboratory equipment to support molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical research, and analytical laboratory workflows.
