Reconditioned Rotary Evaporators
If you’re looking for a rotary evaporator, call or email American Instrument Exchange today. With prices that can save you up to 70% off of comparable new models we can put a reliable rotary evaporator in your lab at a competitive price. We check the function of all motorized lifts along with any digital vacuum controllers or displays. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all rotary evaporators and glassware thoroughly prior to shipment.
But lower cost doesn’t mean lower quality: our technicians test rotary evaporators to make sure that they are in good working order and that all glassware is intact. In addition to running and inspecting the motor unit that rotates the evaporation flask, we assemble the glassware and run the system with a vacuum pump (sold separately). We also test the water baths to make sure they heat and control/read temperature accurately. If the system comes with a motorized lift we check the function of this component along with any digital vacuum controllers or displays. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all rotary evaporators and glassware thoroughly prior to shipment.

Rotary evaporation is the process of reducing the volume of a solvent by distributing it as a thin film across the interior of a vessel at elevated temperature and reduced pressure. This promotes the rapid removal of excess solvent from less volatile samples. Rotary evaporation is most often used to separate low boiling solvents such as ethyl acetate or n-hexane from compounds. Careful application of rotary evaporation can also allow users to remove solvent from a sample containing a liquid compound if there is only nominal co-evaporation and a significant difference in boiling points at the chosen temperature and pressure.
We stock several brands including Buchi, Heidolph, and Labconco rotary evaporators. While the majority of the units we have in stock are laboratory and research scale models, we also have large-capacity industrial rotovap models like the Buchi R-153.
All of the equipment shown on our website is in stock and available. Orders ship from our 30,000 square foot warehouse in Haverhill, MA. Our surplus lab equipment is reconditioned for many types of laboratories, including biotech, biomedical, medical research, chemical, pharmaceutical, and university and hospital research laboratories. We have been a reliable source for used laboratory and scientific equipment since 1969.
