With low-maintenance cross roller-bearing slideways designed to easily section either paraffin-embedded or fixed, frozen specimens, the Leica SM2000 R features an easy-to-use knife holder for both standard knives and disposable blades. The Leica SM2000R is a manually operated sliding microtome. The micrometer feed system is located in an enclosed housing. The microtome has maintenance-free cross roller bearings and lubricating is not required. The knife holder can be mounted in any of the four mounting positions on the knife sledge. The knife holder is designed to accommodate both conventional microtome knives or a disposable blade holder and has an integrated knife guard. The knife or disposable blade holder does not need to be removed for clearance angle adjustment.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.
