American Biotech Supply CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 Controlled Room Temperature Cabinet

Many laboratory products, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic reagents, and medical supplies require storage at controlled room temperature rather than in a refrigerator or incubator. The American Biotech Supply CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 Controlled Room Temperature Cabinet provides a stable storage environment between 20°C and 25°C (68°F to 77°F), helping laboratories, pharmacies, and healthcare facilities maintain compliance with manufacturer storage recommendations while protecting valuable inventory from damaging temperature fluctuations.

Designed for laboratory and healthcare environments, the CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 combines a 2.5 cubic foot storage capacity with a microprocessor temperature controller, forced-air circulation system, digital temperature display, and audible/visual alarms. Its compact undercounter footprint makes it an excellent choice where laboratory space is limited while still providing dependable temperature uniformity and rapid recovery following door openings. Purchasing a refurbished American Biotech Supply controlled room temperature cabinet from American Instrument Exchange allows laboratories to obtain dependable temperature-controlled storage equipment at substantial savings compared with purchasing new equipment.

Designed for Controlled Room Temperature Storage

Unlike general-purpose cabinets that simply protect products from dust or physical damage, the CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 actively maintains a tightly controlled storage environment using electronic temperature regulation and forced-air circulation. The microprocessor continuously monitors cabinet temperature and adjusts operation to maintain the programmed storage range, while dual temperature probes verify both air temperature and simulated product temperature.

This design helps laboratories maintain compliance with controlled room temperature storage requirements for pharmaceuticals, diagnostic reagents, laboratory chemicals, and other products whose manufacturers specify storage between 20°C and 25°C. Audible and visual alarms immediately notify personnel if temperatures move outside the programmed range, helping protect valuable inventory and reduce the risk of product loss.

Common Applications

The CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 is commonly used for:

  • Pharmaceutical storage

  • Hospital pharmacies

  • Clinical laboratories

  • Diagnostic reagent storage

  • Biotechnology laboratories

  • Medical device storage

  • Quality control laboratories

  • Controlled room temperature medication storage

  • Laboratory chemical storage

  • Research laboratories

  • Healthcare facilities

  • Vaccine support areas

Many laboratories pair controlled room temperature cabinets with laboratory refrigerators for cold storage, ultra-low freezers for long-term preservation, biosafety cabinets for aseptic handling, and CO₂ incubators for cell culture applications.

Ideal Laboratory Environments

The American Biotech Supply CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 is well suited for hospitals, pharmacies, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, research laboratories, diagnostic testing facilities, and clinical laboratories requiring controlled room temperature storage in a compact footprint.

Its ADA-compliant undercounter design makes it particularly valuable in facilities where floor space is limited while still requiring regulated storage conditions for sensitive products.

Precise Temperature Control and Laboratory Security

The CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 combines forced-air circulation with microprocessor temperature control to provide excellent temperature uniformity throughout the cabinet. Dual temperature probes continuously monitor cabinet conditions, while audible and visual alarms alert personnel if temperatures move outside the programmed operating range. Remote alarm contacts allow integration with facility monitoring systems, and the keyed door lock helps protect valuable pharmaceuticals and laboratory materials from unauthorized access.

The forced-air circulation system promotes rapid temperature recovery following routine door openings, helping maintain product integrity throughout the workday.

Storage Recommendations

The 2.5 cubic foot storage capacity of the American Biotech Supply CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 is ideal for laboratories and healthcare facilities requiring secure, temperature-controlled storage for smaller inventories of pharmaceuticals, diagnostic reagents, laboratory chemicals, and other materials that must be maintained at controlled room temperature (20°C to 25°C / 68°F to 77°F).

The cabinet includes four adjustable shelves (two full-width and two half-width), allowing users to configure the interior for a variety of bottle sizes, reagent kits, medication containers, and laboratory supplies. The forced-air circulation system helps maintain consistent temperatures throughout the cabinet, while proper spacing between stored items promotes uniform airflow and rapid temperature recovery after routine door openings.

This compact cabinet is particularly well suited for point-of-use storage in laboratories, pharmacies, and clinical settings where frequently accessed materials require dependable controlled room temperature conditions.

Energy Efficiency and Operating Costs

The CRT-ABT-HC-UCFS-0204 was designed to provide dependable temperature-controlled storage while minimizing long-term operating costs. Its high-efficiency refrigeration system utilizes environmentally friendly R600a refrigerant, reducing energy consumption while maintaining stable cabinet temperatures.

A microprocessor controller continuously monitors cabinet conditions and automatically adjusts operation to maintain the programmed temperature range. The forced-air circulation system promotes rapid temperature recovery following door openings, helping reduce compressor run time and improve overall operating efficiency.

Routine maintenance is straightforward, and the durable cabinet construction is designed for years of reliable service in demanding laboratory and healthcare environments.
