The Beckman Coulter Avanti J-20XP Refrigerated Centrifuge is a high-performance floor model centrifuge designed for biotechnology facilities, pharmaceutical laboratories, academic research institutions, core laboratory facilities, cell culture laboratories, genomics programs, and bioprocessing applications. The Avanti J-20XP combines powerful refrigerated centrifugation, broad rotor compatibility, and high-throughput sample processing, making it an excellent choice for laboratories requiring flexibility across a wide range of research and production workflows.
Laboratories evaluating floor model refrigerated centrifuges often compare rotor compatibility, maximum RPM and RCF capability, refrigeration performance, throughput, serviceability, and workflow flexibility when selecting a centrifuge system. The Beckman Avanti J-20XP is engineered to support demanding laboratory applications ranging from routine sample preparation to large-scale cell harvesting and protein purification workflows.
At American Instrument Exchange, our technicians inspect and test each centrifuge to verify proper refrigeration performance, motor operation, braking systems, lid lock functionality, rotor operation, and controller performance prior to shipment. American Instrument Exchange offers used and refurbished laboratory centrifuges for sale, including refrigerated centrifuges, floor model centrifuges, benchtop centrifuges, microcentrifuges, and large-capacity bioprocessing centrifuge systems from leading manufacturers including Beckman Coulter, Thermo Scientific, Eppendorf, and more.
The Beckman Avanti J-20XP provides laboratories with a powerful and versatile centrifugation platform capable of supporting both routine research workflows and larger-scale processing applications.
The Beckman Coulter Avanti J-20XP is a refrigerated floor model centrifuge optimized for cell culture harvesting, biotechnology workflows, pharmaceutical development, protein purification, blood component preparation, fermentation processing, and general laboratory centrifugation procedures. The Avanti platform is well known for its reliability, rotor flexibility, and ability to support a wide variety of sample formats.
Unlike benchtop centrifuges that are often limited by capacity and rotor size, the J-20XP is designed to accommodate larger sample volumes and more demanding workflows. Its refrigerated chamber helps maintain sample integrity throughout centrifugation, making it especially useful for temperature-sensitive biological materials.
The combination of refrigeration, throughput, and rotor flexibility makes the Avanti J-20XP particularly valuable in biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical laboratories, university research facilities, contract research organizations, and core laboratory environments.

The Beckman Avanti J-20XP is commonly used for cell harvesting, protein purification, plasmid preparation, bacterial culture processing, fermentation workflows, blood component separation, vaccine development, biotechnology sample preparation, pharmaceutical research, and general laboratory centrifugation procedures. As a refrigerated centrifuge, the J-20XP helps protect temperature-sensitive samples during processing, making it particularly valuable for proteins, enzymes, biologics, and cell culture applications.
Compared with non-refrigerated centrifuges, the Avanti J-20XP provides greater protection for sensitive samples while maintaining the high throughput required for research and production environments.
Rotor compatibility is one of the most important considerations when purchasing a floor model centrifuge. The Beckman Avanti J-20XP is designed to support a wide range of Beckman J-series fixed-angle and swinging bucket rotors.
Depending on configuration, the Avanti J-20XP may support:
The Avanti J-20XP platform allows laboratories to configure the centrifuge for a broad range of applications and sample formats.
Customers should verify included rotors prior to purchase, as centrifuge configurations can vary between systems.

The Beckman Coulter Avanti J-20XP is a floor model refrigerated centrifuge and should be planned for as a freight-shipped laboratory instrument. Laboratories should verify electrical requirements, available floor space, ventilation clearance, doorway access, loading dock requirements, and final installation location before purchase.
Because the Avanti J-20XP contains refrigeration components, precision electronics, and a high-performance drive system, it typically ships via palletized freight carrier. American Instrument Exchange can assist customers with freight coordination, packaging preparation, and installation planning.
American Instrument Exchange specializes in refurbished laboratory centrifuges including refrigerated centrifuges, floor model centrifuges, benchtop centrifuges, blood banking centrifuges, microcentrifuges, and bioprocessing centrifuge systems.
Our technicians inspect and test centrifuges for:
If the centrifuge is sold with a rotor, we also test the rotor and centrifuge combination together to verify compatibility and operational performance.
