The Beckman Microfuge 12 is a non-refrigerated tabletop centrifuge which rapidly sediments protein precipitates, large particles, cell debris, or cells from small volumes. It may also be used for binding studies, to separate organic-aqueous extraction phases, and for serum separation before electrolyte and other microchemical determinations. The Microfuge 12 has 13 speed settings adjusted in 500rpm increments, and a 15-minute timer in 30 second increments. The run speed is held constant ±500rpm.

The model 13.2 Fixed Angle rotor carries up to 12 tubes at an angle of 45°. Up to 21.6mL of sample solution can be run at one time. The rotor is made of aluminum and is anodized blue to resist corrosion, and has a maximum speed of 12,200rpm.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
