The BioRad C1000 touch thermal cycler is designed for efficient and accurate PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplification. With its intuitive touch screen interface and versatile features, the C1000 touch is perfect for a wide range of PCR applications, including genotyping, gene expression analysis, cloning, and more.
The C1000 touch features a powerful Peltier-based heating and cooling system that allows for precise temperature control and fast ramp rates ensuring rapid thermal cycling and reducing reaction time.
The 96-well sample block allows for flexibility in sample throughput and accommodates a variety of tube sizes.
Because of its intuitive touch screen interface the C1000 touch is easy to use and program. The system features a comprehensive library of pre-programmed protocols. Protocols can also be customized and saved for future use. This simplifies experimental setup and ensures reproducibility.
Other features include a built-in thermal gradient function, which allows for easy optimization of annealing temperature, and a real-time PCR function. This enables the monitoring of fluorescence signals during the amplification process.
The 96-well fast reaction module features a robust design, with a durable construction that ensures reliable and consistent performance. It has a unique geometry that enables optimal heat transfer across the plate. This results in fast and uniform temperature changes and accurate temperature control, which reduces reaction time and improves reproducibility.
Additionally, the system has a heated lid that prevents condensation from forming on the sample plate, ensuring accurate and reliable results. The 96-well fast reaction module is also compatible with a variety of PCR applications, including gene expression analysis, genotyping, cloning, and more.
Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run.
If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.
The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment.
We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.

Q: Is the Biorad C1000 programmable?
A: Yes, users can create and edit different protocols for seven different parameters, including temperature range, gradient range, increment, ramp rate, and time/extended time. We can provide a PDF copy of the manual with information on programming to customers who purchase a C1000 from American Instrument Exchange.
Q: Does this unit include a sample block module?
A: Yes, unless otherwise specified every thermal cycler base we sell includes a reaction module. If you are looking for a certain configuration or plate style you don’t see on our website please contact us – we have a large warehouse and sometimes have extra modules available that are not shown on our product pages.
Q: Can this C1000 be paired with a real-time detection module?
A: Absolutely, although if you do not see any real-time detection modules on our site we may not have them in stock. That being said, any of the C1000 thermal cycler bases that we have available can be paired with either a CFX96 or CFX384 real-time module.
Q: How do you ship this thermal cycler?
A: Shipping method will depend on your location. For local deliveries in New England and Greater Boston we will box the Biorad C1000 and ship with a courier or box truck. For customers outside of our local delivery area we recommend double-boxed packaging, secured on a pallet.
Q: Do you sell S1000 thermal cyclers to pair with the C1000?
A: Yes, we also stock Biorad S1000 models. Each C1000 can be paired with up to three S1000 units, all of which can run under the control of the C1000. Please contact our sales team for information on pricing and availability.
Yes, all equipment from American Instrument Exchange comes with a warranty.
Used/reconditioned/refurbished equipment is tested to make sure it operates to the manufacturer's specifications and comes with a 90-day warranty (unless otherwise noted). New equipment comes with a warranty from the manufacturer.
Testing requirements vary across all the equipment categories we sell. Temperature controlled units are tested with NIST traceable probes and data loggers. Gaskets, external housing, glass, handles, controls and control screens are all thoroughly inspected for integrity and functionality.
We test all equipment using the manufacturer's parameters and specifications to confirm that the unit operates properly.
We can ship products both nationally and internationally using a well-established network of transporters. Smaller items will ship via UPS. Larger equipment will be palletized and shipped either LTL or air-ride, depending on the specific equipment and/or delivery requirements.
American Instrument Exchange will accept the return of any product that is not working as represented and could not be replaced or repaired to the customer's satisfaction during the warranty period. Customers who cancel orders after refurbishing has begun will be subject to a cancellation and restocking fee of between 20% and 40%.
