The evaporation of solvents is a routine process widely performed in the laboratory, so it’s important to select a rotary evaporator that offers reliable results, comfortable operation, and customizable assemblies. The Buchi R-215 provides accurate, consistent results and longevity. Comfortable operation with an ergonomic electric lift. This system also comes equipment with a Buchi V-850 vacuum controller that allows for precise and reproducible results, a Buchi V-700 pump, and many different possibilities for glassware assemblies (inquire for availability). While specific conditions will varying depending on application, the basic operation of the Buchi R-215 rotovap is as follows: the solvent is heated over a heating bath while the drive unit rotates the evaporating flask evenly. The solvent vapor flows quickly into the condenser and the energy in the solvent is transferred to the cooling medium. And presto bingo, the solvent condenses and collects in the receiving flask.

The Buchi V-850 vacuum controller offers pressure regulation to a setpoint, a library containing 43 commonly-used solvents (with the ability to add your own), a timer function, USB interface for data transfer, and control of quick-action jack and Rotavapor rotation.

The Buchi V-700 vacuum pump is a chemically resistant, dual-head PTFE diaphragm pump and is a durable and reliable choice for a wide range of laboratory applications. With a flowrate of 1.8m3/hr and an ultimate vacuum of <10mbar, this pump is a powerful oil-free solution eliminating the need to dispose of used pump oil.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.
