Testing

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test ovens using a calibrated digital chart recorder to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts and run the unit under vacuum to ensure chamber integrity.

We typically leave an oven under vacuum for 24 hours to make sure the pressure holds. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all incubators thoroughly prior to shipment.

Fisher Isotemp model 725F laboratory oven frequently asked questions

What is the Fisher Isotemp Oven 725F used for?

The Fisher Isotemp Oven 725F is a laboratory convection oven designed for applications such as drying, baking, curing, sterilizing (dry heat), and general laboratory heating where consistent and uniform temperature control is required. The forced air convection helps deliver chamber temperature uniformity.

Does the Fisher Isotemp 725F have over-temperature protection?

Yes. The oven includes independent over-temperature protection that shuts off heating if the chamber temperature exceeds a safe limit.

What materials should NOT be placed in the oven?
Do not place the following inside the oven:

  • Flammable solvents or chemicals
  • Explosive materials
  • Pressurized containers
  • Volatile substances that produce hazardous vapors

Do I need to clean the chamber of the Isotemp 725F often or regularly?

The chamber should be cleaned regularly to prevent contamination and buildup. Wait until the chamber is cool and not in use, then unplug and wipe the inside of the chamber with a cloth. Try to avoid using chemicals that will leave a residue that can off gas when heated.

When spills occur, clean thoroughly as soon as the chamber is cool enough. Do not continue to use the over after a spill and before cleaning.

How do I clean the oven interior?

  1. Turn off and unplug the oven.
  2. Allow it to cool completely.
  3. Wipe the interior with a mild detergent and non-abrasive cloth.
  4. Avoid using corrosive cleaning agents.

Why is the oven not heating? Why is the temperature fluctuating?
Possible causes include, power supply issue, tripped over-temperature safety, faulty heating element, or controller malfunction.

Temperature fluctuations may occur due to frequent door opening, improper airflow inside the chamber, overloading the oven, sensor or calibration issues. If you continue to see performance issues with your Fisher Isotemp oven, contact our sales staff for information about lab equipment repair at American Instrument Exchange.
