Fisher Scientific Isotemp Explosion-Proof Laboratory Refrigerator/Freezer Combination

The Fisher Scientific Isotemp Explosion-Proof Laboratory Refrigerator/Freezer Combination is a laboratory-grade cold storage system engineered for the safe storage of temperature-sensitive flammable chemicals in hazardous locations where ignitable vapors may be present. With a combined storage capacity of 10.1 cubic feet (286 L), separate refrigerator and freezer compartments, and explosion-proof electrical construction, this combination unit provides dependable refrigerated and frozen storage while meeting the stringent safety requirements of chemical laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, petrochemical operations, and industrial research environments.

Unlike flammable material storage refrigerators that are intended for non-hazardous laboratory spaces, the Fisher Scientific Isotemp Explosion-Proof series is specifically designed for installation in Class I, Division 1, Groups C and D hazardous locations. Spark-free interiors and exteriors, explosion-proof electrical components, manual defrost operation, and a CFC- and HFC-free refrigeration system help reduce ignition risks while maintaining dependable laboratory temperature performance. These units are hardwired directly into the building electrical system rather than utilizing a standard power cord for additional safety.

Many laboratories pair explosion-proof refrigeration with chemical fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, laboratory freezers, and laboratory refrigerators to create a complete hazardous-material handling workflow.

Overview

The Fisher Scientific Isotemp Explosion-Proof Combination Refrigerator/Freezer provides laboratories with both refrigerated and frozen storage in a single explosion-proof cabinet. By combining two storage temperatures within one unit, laboratories can safely store volatile chemicals while conserving valuable floor space.

The cabinet utilizes explosion-proof electrical components, spark-free construction, and manual defrost refrigeration to minimize ignition hazards in hazardous laboratory environments. Because all electrical connections are sealed and the unit is designed for hardwired installation, it provides an added level of protection beyond standard laboratory refrigeration equipment when flammable vapors may be present.
