The Nuaire LabGard NU-427-600 biosafety cabinet is designed to provide personnel, product, and environmental protection for laboratory procedures requiring contamination-controlled airflow and partial exhaust containment performance. Commonly used for microbiology research, pharmaceutical workflows, biotechnology applications, and laboratory procedures involving trace amounts of volatile toxic chemicals, this refurbished Nuaire biosafety cabinet offers reliable containment performance for laboratories requiring a Class II Type B1 configuration.
At American Instrument Exchange, each biosafety cabinet is inspected and tested by our technicians prior to shipment. Unless otherwise specified, new HEPA filters are installed at our facility before delivery. Laboratories outfitting containment-focused workflows may also browse additional biosafety cabinets, clean benches, laboratory incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, and freezers available through American Instrument Exchange.
The Nuaire LabGard NU-427-600 is a 6-foot Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinet engineered for laboratory environments requiring contamination control, sterile airflow, operator protection, and partial exhaust capability. Unlike standard Type A2 biosafety cabinets, the NU-427 series is designed for ducted operation and exhausts approximately 70% of cabinet airflow through a dedicated facility exhaust system while recirculating the remaining airflow internally.
This configuration may make the NU-427-600 appropriate for laboratory procedures involving trace amounts of volatile toxic chemicals or radionuclides used in conjunction with microbiological workflows when work is performed in the directly exhausted portion of the cabinet.
The NU-427 series is widely used throughout biotechnology laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, hospital laboratories, academic research institutions, and clinical environments because of its containment-focused airflow design, ergonomic workspace configuration, and advanced airflow monitoring systems.
Features may include HEPA-filtered laminar airflow, TouchLink electronic controls, exhaust airflow monitoring, stainless steel interior construction, ergonomic sash positioning, and low-noise operation depending on the specific configuration of the unit.
The larger 6-foot workspace may make this biosafety cabinet especially appropriate for laboratories requiring additional working area for high-throughput workflows, larger protocols, or multi-user laboratory procedures.
The Nuaire LabGard NU-427-600 biosafety cabinet is commonly used for laboratory procedures requiring sterile airflow, contamination control, and partial exhaust operation. Typical applications include microbiology workflows, tissue culture procedures, pharmaceutical preparation, biotechnology research, biological sample handling, and laboratory procedures involving trace volatile chemicals used alongside biological workflows.
This biosafety cabinet may also be appropriate for biotechnology laboratories, pharmaceutical production facilities, hospital laboratories, clinical testing laboratories, government research institutions, and academic research facilities performing contamination-sensitive laboratory procedures requiring a Type B1 exhaust configuration.
Laboratories building out complete containment workflows may also be interested in laboratory freezers, incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, and cleanroom equipment available through American Instrument Exchange.
This biosafety cabinet may be suitable for biotechnology laboratories, pharmaceutical production environments, hospital laboratories, academic research facilities, clinical diagnostics laboratories, government research institutions, and cleanroom applications requiring a ducted Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinet.
Its 70% exhaust design and dedicated exhaust system compatibility may make it appropriate for laboratories requiring additional exhaust capability beyond a standard recirculating Type A2 cabinet.

American Instrument Exchange has extensive experience refurbishing used biosafety cabinets and laboratory containment equipment for research and pharmaceutical environments.
Each biosafety cabinet is inspected by our technicians to verify proper blower operation, airflow performance, sash operation, control operation, lighting operation, cabinet integrity, and overall system condition prior to shipment. Unless otherwise specified, new HEPA filters are installed at our facility before delivery.
Testing procedures include major functional and airflow verification elements associated with biosafety cabinet performance to help support certification readiness upon installation at your facility. Because this is a ducted Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinet, final certification should be completed after exhaust connection and installation by qualified field technicians in accordance with laboratory requirements.
Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinets should be certified by qualified field technicians after installation and exhaust connection before laboratory use.
American Instrument Exchange performs functional testing prior to shipment to support certification readiness upon arrival. Buyers should confirm facility compatibility, exhaust requirements, airflow requirements, electrical requirements, and certification standards prior to installation.
Certification services are available through our affiliate company AIE Laboratory Services, which provides biosafety cabinet certification, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and field service support for laboratory containment equipment.
Certification requirements may vary depending on laboratory protocols, facility standards, and application requirements.
Biosafety cabinets are oversized laboratory containment systems that may require special handling during transportation, delivery, and installation. Buyers should confirm facility access dimensions, doorway clearances, elevator compatibility, exhaust compatibility, electrical compatibility, and final cabinet placement before shipment.
Because this is a ducted Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinet, installation should be coordinated with facility engineering personnel or qualified biosafety cabinet service providers to confirm proper exhaust integration and airflow performance.
Depending on the installation environment, liftgate delivery, inside delivery services, rigging assistance, or coordinated facility access may be recommended.
A Class II Type B1 biosafety cabinet exhausts approximately 70% of cabinet airflow through a dedicated facility exhaust system, while a standard Type A2 cabinet recirculates a larger percentage of filtered air back into the cabinet workspace.
