The SLM Aminco French press is composed of a hydraulic press and pressure cell (not included here – call for availability) and can be used for a wide variety of applications, including cell disruption or subcellular fractionation, enzyme preparation and isolation, bacterial and plant tissue disintegration, cell extract preparation, membrane preparation for rhizobia, and recovery of intercellular proteins and nucleic acid, among others. Samples are placed into the cell and pressurized, then slowly released through the outlet valve, causing a sudden drop in pressure that bursts the cells.

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test all equipment to confirm that it operates properly and to the manufacturer’s specifications. While we can’t test for a specific analytical application, we will do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be run. If you have particular testing requirements or requests please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these requirements are addressed during testing.
