Conventional, high-performance refrigerators use single-speed compressors that continually cycle on and off. But the TSX5005SA's V-Drive runs at variable speeds to adjust cooling performance to the conditions inside and outside of the refrigerator.
When there are frequent door openings, or samples are added to the refrigerator or freezer, the control system detects the activity and increases the drive speed to bring temperatures back to the setpoint quickly. This innovative technology is one of the reasons the TSX5005SA delivers outstanding door-opening recovery (DOR) speed.

Testing
This equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test refrigerators using a calibrated digital data logger to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all refrigerators thoroughly prior to shipment.

What kind of compressor and cooling technology does it use?
This model uses V-drive variable-speed compressor technology that continuously adjusts compressor speed based on user patterns (like door openings), which helps maintain uniform temperatures and save energy
V-Drive” is shorthand for “Variable Drive” technology. Thermo designed a cooling system that dynamically adjusts the compressor speed, meaning that the system can ramp up cooling when a door is opened and temperature recovery is needed quickly.
Once temperature recovery is achieved and the temp of the chamber has stabilized, the compressor speed slows. This ensures both temperature stability and energy efficient operation. Thermo TSX series refrigerators, freezers, and ultralow freezers all feature V-Drive technology.
How is this refrigerator tested before shipment?
Technicians at American Instrument Exchange verify temperature accuracy with calibrated instruments, inspect and service critical components, and thoroughly clean both the interior and exterior before shipping to ensure it meets performance expectations.

I have a Thermo TSX5005 that isn’t working. Can you provide technical support?
We provide both field and depot repair services, depending on your location and the nature of the problem. While we can provide limited technical support by phone we suggest calling Thermo if you are looking for advice or operational support.

Does the equipment come with a warranty?
Yes, all equipment from American Instrument Exchange comes with a warranty. Used/reconditioned/refurbished equipment is tested to make sure it operates to the manufacturer's specifications and comes with a 90-day warranty (unless otherwise noted). New equipment comes with a warranty from the manufacturer.
How do you test and recondition the equipment?
Testing requirements vary across all the equipment categories we sell. Temperature controlled units are tested with NIST traceable probes and data loggers. Gaskets, external housing, glass, handles, controls and control screens are all thoroughly inspected for integrity and functionality. We test all equipment using the manufacturer's parameters and specifications to confirm that the unit operates properly.
How do products ship from American Instrument Exchange?
We can ship products both nationally and internationally using a well-established network of transporters. Smaller items will ship via UPS. Larger equipment will be palletized and shipped either LTL or air-ride, depending on the specific equipment and/or delivery requirements.
Return and order cancellation policy
American Instrument Exchange will accept the return of any product that is not working as represented and could not be replaced or repaired to the customer's satisfaction during the warranty period. Customers who cancel orders after refurbishing has begun will be subject to a cancellation and restocking fee of between 20% and 40%.

How does your price matching policy work?
We strive to keep our pricing competitive and reasonable. If you find comparable items for sale at a lower price from other vendors please send us a link and or quote for the item and we'll do our best to match or beat the price.
Can I see the equipment in person before committing to a purchase?
Customers are welcome to make an appointment to view equipment in our warehouse. Given our workload we may not be able to test or clean the equipment prior to your arrival if you have not committed to an order.
