VWR HCCP-47-TS Performance Series Chromatography Refrigerator

When chromatography systems become an integral part of the laboratory workflow, refrigeration needs extend beyond simply keeping samples cold. Solvents, mobile phases, analytical standards, and chromatography columns often need to remain refrigerated while instrument tubing and electrical connections stay in place. The VWR HCCP-47-TS Performance Series Chromatography Refrigerator was developed specifically for these applications, combining precise temperature control with dedicated pass-through access ports that support continuous instrument operation.

With 47 cubic feet of refrigerated storage, advanced temperature monitoring, built-in data logging, dual sliding glass doors, and a microprocessor-controlled refrigeration system, the HCCP-47-TS is an excellent solution for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, analytical chemistry, and quality control laboratories. Purchasing a refurbished unit from American Instrument Exchange provides laboratories with premium chromatography refrigeration at a fraction of the cost of new equipment.

Overview

The VWR HCCP-47-TS is purpose-built for laboratories operating HPLC, UHPLC, FPLC, LC/MS, and other chromatography systems that require refrigerated solvents, standards, or analytical reagents. Dedicated pass-through ports allow tubing to enter the cabinet while maintaining stable internal temperatures, eliminating the need to route lines through partially open doors.

Unlike standard laboratory refrigerators, the HCCP-47-TS incorporates advanced monitoring capabilities including touchscreen controls, onboard temperature data logging, USB data transfer, multiple alarm conditions, and sample-simulated temperature monitoring. These features help laboratories document storage conditions while protecting valuable reagents and analytical materials.

The dual sliding glass doors improve accessibility in laboratories where aisle space is limited and allow users to quickly locate materials without exposing the cabinet to unnecessary warm air infiltration.

Common Applications

The HCCP-47-TS is commonly used for refrigerated chromatography solvents, HPLC and UHPLC mobile phases, chromatography columns, calibration standards, laboratory buffers, pharmaceutical compounds, protein samples, biological reagents, analytical reference materials, quality control standards, and other temperature-sensitive laboratory supplies requiring storage between 1°C and 10°C.

It is also well suited for laboratories that require refrigerated instrument connections during continuous analytical operation.

Ideal Laboratory Types

The VWR HCCP-47-TS is an excellent choice for:

  • Pharmaceutical laboratories

  • Biotechnology laboratories

  • Analytical chemistry laboratories

  • Contract research organizations (CROs)

  • Quality control laboratories

  • Clinical research laboratories

  • Environmental testing laboratories

  • Food and beverage testing laboratories

  • Academic research institutions

Laboratories operating multiple chromatography instruments will particularly benefit from the refrigerator's specialized design and generous storage capacity.

Temperature Recovery & Uniformity

Stable temperature control is essential for chromatography reagents and analytical standards. The HCCP-47-TS utilizes forced-air circulation and a microprocessor-controlled refrigeration system to maintain consistent cabinet temperatures throughout the storage chamber.

Rapid temperature recovery following routine door openings helps minimize fluctuations during busy laboratory workflows, while the sample-simulated temperature monitoring system provides a more representative indication of actual product temperature than conventional air sensors alone.

Sample Storage Recommendations

The VWR HCCP-47-TS is ideal for storing:

  • HPLC and UHPLC mobile phases

  • Chromatography columns

  • Laboratory buffers

  • Analytical standards

  • Calibration solutions

  • Pharmaceutical compounds

  • Biological reagents

  • Antibodies

  • Protein samples

  • Quality control materials

  • Diagnostic reagents

  • Temperature-sensitive research samples

Applications requiring frozen storage or long-term preservation below 0°C should instead utilize a laboratory freezer or ultralow freezer.

Refurbishment & Testing Process

Every VWR HCCP-47-TS received by American Instrument Exchange undergoes a comprehensive inspection before shipment. Our technicians verify refrigeration performance using calibrated temperature monitoring equipment, inspect refrigeration components, evaluate door seals and sliding door operation, confirm alarm functionality, test touchscreen controls and data logging features, and thoroughly clean the refrigerator.

Any required repairs or replacement components are completed before the refrigerator is approved for shipment to help ensure dependable operation upon installation.

Shipping & Installation Considerations

The HCCP-47-TS ships by freight from American Instrument Exchange. Laboratories should verify doorway clearances, installation space, electrical service, and ventilation requirements prior to delivery. Because chromatography refrigerators are frequently installed adjacent to analytical instrumentation, laboratories should also plan for convenient routing of tubing through the integrated access ports during installation.

Liftgate delivery, inside delivery, and other specialized freight services are available when required.

Related Laboratory Equipment

Laboratories purchasing the VWR HCCP-47-TS frequently also consider our laboratory refrigerators, laboratory freezers, ultralow freezers, CO₂ incubators, centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, chromatography systems, and laboratory cold storage accessories.
