The VWR model SCBAF-3020 lab freezer is a large capacity unit with 30 cubic feet of interior storage space. This general purpose freezer has a mechanical thermostat and automatic defrost, running a defrost cycle every six hours to remove frost build-up. During this cycle, which can last up to 25 minutes, the compressor is turned off and defrost heaters are turned on in the evaporator section. This will cause a temperature transient which will be seen in air temperature inside the unit but should not significantly affect product temperatures.

Most of the equipment we sell is used and reconditioned. Our technicians use calibrated digital chart recorders to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts of all freezers, making sure that the units hold temperature to within the manufacturer specified tolerance. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and if needed replace refrigerant. We clean all freezers thoroughly prior to shipment.
