The Beckman Avanti J-20XP is a large volume centrifuge that can increase your lab’s throughput with a 6 x 1L capacity and large rotor library. The Avanti J-20XP is designed for use with large volume rotors, DNA microplate carrier kits, elutriation systems, and other high-speed rotors.

The Avanti J-20XP features a brushless switched-reluctance drive motor, an automatic rotor identification system, FRS (friction reduction system) vacuum control circuitry, and a temperature control system with automatic temperature compensation unique for each compatible rotor. The user interface has a digital display, which can be toggled to show either actual centrifuge values or user-entered setup values, knobs for parameter entry, and touch keys. Diagnostic messages on the control panel will light to alert the operator to conditions that may need attention.

Applications include: routine processing such as sample preparations, pelleting, extractions, purifications, concentrations, phase separations, and spin column and spin filter centrifugations; rapid sedimentation of protein precipitates, large particles, and cell debris; preparation of subcellular organelles such as mitochondria, nuclei, chloroplasts, and crude microsomes; separation of blood cells and cellular components; pelleting of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; gradient separation; nucleic acid precipitation; virus isolation; bacteriophage isolation.

All of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit.
