The Fiberlite F14-6x250y fixed angle rotor features carbon fiber technology that is safer than metallic rotors. The F14-6x250y is corrosion free, cold room compatible, easy to handle, and fully autoclavable. It is light and so provides reduced wear on centrifuge drives with rapid acceleration and deceleration. Fiberlight rotors are highly resistant to radiolabel contamination.
Large metal centrifuge rotors often present a unique lifting hazard in the laboratory due to their weight and awkward shape. Lightweight Fiberlite rotors—up to 60% less weight than metallic rotors—facilitate a safer work environment and minimize risk of damage to centrifugation equipment as a result of these ergonomic improvements.
Traditionally, the primary cause of rotor failure is from damage to metal surfaces due to moisture, chemicals or alkaline solutions that weaken the metal rotor’s structural integrity. Carbon fiber composite rotors are corrosion-resistant, eliminating this ever-present hazard, and are safe to use with most mild laboratory detergents and solutions, providing easy rotor care and maintenance.
Substantial load or stress, as a result of high rotational speeds and repeat cycles, can also threaten metal rotor structure by causing it to stretch and change in size, limiting rotor life or leading to failure. Thermo Scientific Fiberlite rotors are fatigue-resistant, mitigating this threat
This FiberLite F14-6x250 is used and reconditioned. Rotors undergo a rigorous inspection process, including buckets, gaskets, and overspeed disks. Fixed-angle rotors are assessed for body integrity, while swinging bucket rotors are checked for proper weight distribution. Whenever possible, each rotor is run in a compatible centrifuge to confirm flawless performance, ensuring you receive equipment that meets the highest standards.
The photos above represent our equipment, which is currently stored in our warehouse. Since we often stock multiple units of each model, we may not feature photos of every unit. However, if you request, we will provide photos of your specific equipment after we test and clean it.

Q: Do you sell Fiberlite rotors separately, or only with centrifuges?
A: We prefer to sell rotors as part of a package deal with Thermo Lynx 4000 and Thermo Lynx 6000 centrifuges, but depending on the situation we may offer for sale separately. We price our rotors with the intention of selling them with a centrifuge so any prices you see on our website/shopping app may be lower than what we can offer for the Thermo Fiberlite F14-6x250y rotor on it’s own.
Q: How do you test the Thermo Fiberlite F14-6x250y rotor?
A: By spinning it in a Thermo Lynx centrifuge, of course! We maintain a broad inventory of centrifuges and rotors in our warehouse in Haverhill, MA. We test rotors to all parameters to ensure functionality.
Q: What kind of warranty do you offer on the Thermo Fiberlite F14-6x250y rotor?
A: We offer a 90-day warranty on all of our products, but because Fiberlite rotors are backed by a 15-year warranty we may have some Fiberlites in stock that are also covered by a manufacturer warranty. Call or email us for details.
Q: Can I rent this rotor for a specific application?
A: At this time we don’t offer rental options, but our prices are often up to 60% of the cost of comparable new equipment. At that price, it may make more sense for your lab to buy instead of rent anyhow.
Q: What’s the deal with the Auto-ID feature? Is that an option, or is it a standard feature in all Thermo Fiberlite F14-6x250y rotors?
A: It’s a standard feature. Software in the Lynx centrifuge allows for immediate identification of a rotor model when it is secured to the spindle in the chamber (unlike old school models in which rotor information or codes had to be manually inputted). This is both a safety and convenience feature: it prevents over-speed errors and accidents, and at the same time allows for quicker set up and run times.
Yes, all equipment from American Instrument Exchange comes with a warranty.
Used/reconditioned/refurbished equipment is tested to make sure it operates to the manufacturer's specifications and comes with a 90-day warranty (unless otherwise noted). New equipment comes with a warranty from the manufacturer.
Testing requirements vary across all the equipment categories we sell. Temperature controlled units are tested with NIST traceable probes and data loggers. Gaskets, external housing, glass, handles, controls and control screens are all thoroughly inspected for integrity and functionality.
We test all equipment using the manufacturer's parameters and specifications to confirm that the unit operates properly.
We can ship products both nationally and internationally using a well-established network of transporters. Smaller items will ship via UPS. Larger equipment will be palletized and shipped either LTL or air-ride, depending on the specific equipment and/or delivery requirements.
American Instrument Exchange will accept the return of any product that is not working as represented and could not be replaced or repaired to the customer's satisfaction during the warranty period. Customers who cancel orders after refurbishing has begun will be subject to a cancellation and restocking fee of between 20% and 40%.
