Sorvall Primo Biofuge R refrigerated centrifuge

  • Can serve as a microliter, high speed, and general purpose centrifuge
  • 230 volt model
  • 90 day warranty

The Sorvall Biofuge Primo is a microliter, high speed, and general purpose centrifuge all at the same time. The automatic rotor recognition technology IDs the rotor being used and self-adjusts parameters accordingly while an imbalance recognition system all prevents damage to the centrifuge, spindle, or rotor. The control panel is intuitive, with virtually no learning curve upon initial use. Typical applications include sedimentation of cells, sedimentation of cell organelles and cell fragments, sample prep for HPLC and electrophoresis, separation of DNA and protein precipitates, blood and urine analysis, and centrifugation of standard test series in microliter tubes.

All of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.
