The Sorvall RC-5C is an industry standard that can be used in any application in which users need to separate substances of different densities at controlled temperatures. This model, considered for many years as the go-to, best in class floor model centrifuge, has the same drive system and refrigeration system as previous Sorvall floor model units, including a directly coupled, fan-cooled series universal motor that provides smooth and quiet operation. The Sorvall RC-5C features a RCF mode that allows users to calculate g force before a run; automatic temperature compensation; automatic rate-controlled slow start and slow stop; automatic diagnostic indicators as well as an automatic self-test routine. The Sorvall RC-5C can be operated in several modes or a combination of modes. This centrifuge is compatible with several different Sorvall rotors. (Sold separately.)

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly. If the centrifuge is refrigerated we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Our technicians inspect all rotors, including any buckets, gaskets and overspeed disks. Fixed angle rotors are closely inspected for body integrity; swinging bucket rotors supplied with buckets are checked for proper weight distribution. When possible we run each rotor in a compatible centrifuge to make sure the rotor spins properly.

Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse and that in addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment. We often have multiple units of each model in stock and sometimes we're unable to feature photos of every single unit.
