Thermo Scientific HERAcell 150i Copper-Lined CO2 incubators come standard with an on-demand, automatic 90°C decontamination function that decontaminates the entire chamber interior without the need to remove sensors, fittings or shelves. Decontamination is highly effective against a wide range of contaminants, including mycoplasma.
This HERAcell 150i features a copper-lined interior with perforated shelves; the iCAN touchscreen; and pan-less humidity water reservoir that provides faster humidity which promotes improved cell growth.
The iCAN touchscreen improves your visibility and control of important incubator information for each critical parameter in the incubator, helping you achieve your culturing goals. It provides trend analysis for convenient evaluation of performance, and visibility into chances in the culture environment through on-screen logs and usage recording. The display also allows you to monitor alarm alerts visually.
The pan-less humidity system with a surface area lager than ordinary humidity water pans, reduces handling and provides recover rates up to five times faster than tray humidified incubators. There is direct heat-transfer from the heated floor system to the humidity reservoir. Together with the heated floor, the humidity reservoir provides a high relative humidity range and allows rapid recovery of optimal humidity level after door openings.
CO2 levels are monitored with an IR sensor, have a range of 0-20%; a control accuracy better than ±0.1%; readability and stability of 0.10%; and requires an inlet pressure of 15 PSIG (1.0 bar).
Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test incubators using calibrated digital temperature probes to verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and clean all incubators thoroughly prior to shipment.
The photos above are representative. Please bear in mind that the equipment shown is currently in storage in our warehouse. In addition to testing each machine we will clean all the equipment thoroughly prior to shipment.
We often have multiple units of each model in stock. At your request, we can provide photos of the equipment in your order after it has been tested and cleaned.

I used the Thermo 3110 water-jacketed incubators for years. What’s the advantage of an air-jacketed model?
Water jacketed models are great for temperature stability due to the thermal mass and insulating properties of the water, but air jacketed models offer faster and more precise temp recovery. They are also easier to maintain and move.
Air jacketed units typically feature a high-temp sterilization cycle which is not an option in most water jacketed incubators.
For multiuser labs that require regular/frequent decontamination as well as low maintenance, air jacketed incubators are often the best choice.
What’s the advantage of copper-lining in a CO2 incubator?
Copper-lining offers an antimicrobial, self-disinfecting surface to reduce reliance on chemical disinfectants and are easy to maintain, ensuring a sterile environment. It can kill bacteria, fungi, and mold on surfaces to prevent contamination in cell cultures.
Does the copper in this Thermo Heracell 150i incubator show use?
We will clean the copper to the best of our ability, but there is no practical way to make it look brand new. We’re happy to provide additional pictures after testing and cleaning for your approval.
I need multiple incubators for my lab. Are you able to supply several matching chambers or stacks?
Yes, we frequently outfit new labs with multiple pieces of equipment. We encourage you to check out some of the lab equipment start up packages from American Instrument Exchange. These include not only incubators but also biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, microscopes, and more. We offer easy customization to match your specific budget, brand preferences, and research requirements.
Do you offer repair services for the malfunctioning VIOS 160i incubators?
Absolutely. Our technicians can repair incubators and we offer both field service and depot repair services, depending on the nature of the problem and your location.
Yes, all equipment from American Instrument Exchange comes with a warranty.
Used/reconditioned/refurbished equipment is tested to make sure it operates to the manufacturer’s specifications and comes with a 90-day warranty (unless otherwise noted). New equipment comes with a warranty from the manufacturer.
Testing requirements vary across all the equipment categories we sell. Temperature controlled units are tested with NIST traceable probes and data loggers. Gaskets, external housing, glass, handles, controls and control screens are all thoroughly inspected for integrity and functionality.
We test all equipment using the manufacturer's parameters and specifications to confirm that the unit operates properly. While we may not be able to test for specific analytical applications we do our best to simulate the conditions under which the equipment will be used in your lab. If you have particular testing requirements please let us know and we’ll work with you to make sure these are addressed during testing.
We can ship products both nationally and internationally using a well-established network of transporters. Smaller items will ship via UPS. Larger equipment will be palletized and shipped either LTL or air-ride, depending on the specific equipment and/or delivery requirements. In many cases we can offer inside delivery. Customers are also welcome to make pick-up arrangements using their own preferred carrier.
All shipments are FOB Haverhill, MA. American Instrument Exchange will take reasonable steps to protect the equipment during shipment and the equipment will be fully insured. The customer will be charged for all shipping and handling charges, and fees incurred in the process of delivering the order.
For local customers in and around New England we can offer shipping and delivery using a local moving company trained by our staff to handle and deliver lab equipment. Our local movers can provide either standard dock-to-dock delivery or bring the equipment into your lab and set it in place.
