The Thermo Scientific TSX60086 Ultralow Freezer is a high efficiency ultralow temperature freezer with excellent temperature uniformity. The TSX60086A is extremely energy efficient, requiring only 10.2 kWh/day to store up to 600 two-inch cryoboxes. Additionally, the quiet operation (48 dBA) provides welcome relief from the louder compressor operation of comparably sized models.

The user-friendly touchscreen interface has an easy-to-use set-up wizard, event log, also including temperature mapping and data download. Capacitive touch, even when using latex gloves, improved clout-connected, wireless monitoring capability. Advanced security features, and a built-in USB port that allows for quick data download for system diagnostics and analysis.
Additionally, the TSX Series ultralow freezers were designed with sample storage security in mind. They feature outstanding peak variation when in high-performance mode: +/- 5°C; fast door-opening recovery: <30 minutes; outstanding temperature uniformity: +/– 5.2°C °; and long warm-up time: from –80°C to –50°C at <5.0 hours.

Thermo Scientific TSX60086 Testing
Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians verify the accuracy of temperature controls and readouts of all ultralow freezers, making sure that the units hold temperature to within the manufacturer specified tolerance. We replace any hardware or parts as is necessary and if needed replace refrigerant. We clean all freezers thoroughly prior to shipment.

Q: Why are there only two interior doors on the Thermo TSX60086 ultralow? I remember four or five on the older Thermo Revco ULT models.
A: The interior doors of the Thermo TSX60086 are more heavily insulated than those of previous models which helps both with energy efficiency and with temperature recovery after door openings. The two-door design actually helps reduce airflow and thus temperature loss. Five door configuration kits are available from Thermo if this is a requirement for your lab.
Q: Is the interface easy to use?
A: Yes, the touchscreen interface on the Thermo TSX60086 is very user friendly. It provides a great deal of functionality and features datalogging which is helpful for calibration and qualification. And when repairs are needed, technicians can use both the datalogging feature and the diagnostic features to quickly and accurately pinpoint the problem.
Q: What is the V-drive technology on the Thermo TSX60086 ultralow?
A:“V-Drive” is shorthand for “Variable Drive” technology. Thermo designed a cooling system that dynamically adjusts the compressor speed, meaning that the system can ramp up cooling when a door is opened and temperature recovery is needed quickly.
Once temperature recovery is achieved and the temp of the chamber has stabilized, the compressor speed slows. This ensures both temperature stability and energy efficient operation. Thermo TSX series refrigerators, freezers, and ultralow freezers all feature V-Drive technology.

Q: Is this unit covered by warranty?
A: All of the refurbished equipment we sell is covered by our warranty. Many items are also covered or partially covered by a manufacturer's warranty. The Thermo TSX60086 is sold new with a 12 year warranty, so many used and refurbished units still have parts such as the compressor that are covered. Please contact our sales team for more details.

Does the equipment come with a warranty?
Yes, all equipment from American Instrument Exchange comes with a warranty. Used/reconditioned/refurbished equipment is tested to make sure it operates to the manufacturer's specifications and comes with a 90-day warranty (unless otherwise noted). New equipment comes with a warranty from the manufacturer.
How do you test and recondition the equipment?
Testing requirements vary across all the equipment categories we sell. Temperature controlled units are tested with NIST traceable probes and data loggers. Gaskets, external housing, glass, handles, controls and control screens are all thoroughly inspected for integrity and functionality. We test all equipment using the manufacturer's parameters and specifications to confirm that the unit operates properly.
How do products ship from American Instrument Exchange?
We can ship products both nationally and internationally using a well-established network of transporters. Smaller items will ship via UPS. Larger equipment will be palletized and shipped either LTL or air-ride, depending on the specific equipment and/or delivery requirements.
Return and order cancellation policy
American Instrument Exchange will accept the return of any product that is not working as represented and could not be replaced or repaired to the customer's satisfaction during the warranty period. Customers who cancel orders after refurbishing has begun will be subject to a cancellation and restocking fee of between 20% and 40%.

How does your price matching policy work?
We strive to keep our pricing competitive and reasonable. If you find comparable items for sale at a lower price from other vendors please send us a link and or quote for the item and we'll do our best to match or beat the price.
Can I see the equipment in person before committing to a purchase?
Customers are welcome to make an appointment to view equipment in our warehouse. Given our workload we may not be able to test or clean the equipment prior to your arrival if you have not committed to an order.
1023 Western Avenue is a working warehouse, not a showroom, and customers should dress appropriately and wear closed toe shoes.
