Features

Advanced rotor innovations including Thermo Scientific Auto-Lock rotor exchange, Thermo Scientific Auto-ID instant rotor identification and lightweight and durable Thermo Scientific Fiberlite carbon fiber rotors that shorten run set-up time and increase rotor security.

For real-time run monitoring and control via a smart device, download the Thermo Scientific Centri-Vue application. The fixed angle rotors for the LYNX 4000 are lightweight Fiberlite carbon fiber rotors with corrosion- and fatigue-resistance secures the rotor's structural integrity.

The Centri-Touch touchscreen interface has a bright, highly visible and durable display that simplifies set up and allows for program storage of up to 120 user inputted programs with alpha-numeric naming as well as 9 acceleration and 10 deceleration profiles. The drive system features a high torque brushless motor for years of virtually maintenance free use and quiet operation at less than 59dBA.

Testing

Most of our equipment is used and reconditioned. Our technicians test the performance of all centrifuges and make sure the rotating assembly is properly balanced; the bearings, seals and gaskets on the spindle assembly are in good shape; and the controls work properly.

If the centrifuge is refrigerated, we also test to make sure that the machine reaches and hold temperature properly. All tolerances are measured and the exterior and interior of all units are fully cleaned. If the unit is being purchased with a rotor, we test the rotor/centrifuge combination together.

Thermo Sorvall Lynx 4000 FAQs

Q: Do you have rotors in stock for the Thermo Lynx 4000?

A: Yes, we frequently have rotors in stock and available to pair with Thermo Lynx centrifuges. Some of these rotors are only available for sale as part of package purchases with the Lynx 4000 centrifuges, such as the F9-6-1000 LEX with the Lynx 6000, while some other models may be available for purchase separately. You can use the search feature on our website to find specific rotors, or contact our sales staff for information on pricing and availability.

Q: Can the Lynx 4000 be wired to run on a normal 110V electrical outlet?

A: No, the power requirements of the Lynx 4000 are such that a 240V, 30amp electrical connection is required (or in some cases a 380/400V).

Q: Are spare parts available for the Thermo Lynx 4000?

A: Most spare parts can be sourced from Thermo and/or non-OEM supplies, depending on the part you’re looking for. We don’t sell or strip parts from units we have in stock but if you’re looking for repairs or other information on support options please call or email us.

Q: How do you test the Thermo Lynx 4000?

A: Using multiple rotors, we program different parameters into each Lynx 4000 and run the unit as it would be used in a lab. The UI on the Lynx 6000 allows us to determine the successful execution of each programmed run. Our technicians also check the electronics, the refrigeration system, the integrity of the spindle and bowl, and other factors to ensure that the centrifuge is in good working order and will run to spec in your lab.

Q: How do you ship the Lynx 4000? Can you bring it into my lab?

A: For customers in Greater Boston and New England, our movers can provide inside delivery. Our field service technicians are also available to provide set up and installation if needed, although in most cases an experienced lab manager should be able to set up the machine. Please call or email us for details.

For customers outside of our local delivery area, the Lynx 4000 will ship on a pallet, partially crated. We can arrange for dock-to-dock shipment. If white glove delivery is needed with can work with local carriers for final mile delivery.
